MHA INTRODUCES WIFI FOR VISITORS AND PATIENTS

A new guest and patient wireless Internet service is being introduced at Four Counties Health Services (FCHS) and Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital (SMGH) for use by patients, visitors and families. The introduction of the guest network will make free WiFi access available in all areas where wireless coverage exists.   People accessing MHA can now use their own laptops, iPads, mobile devices, etc., to surf the internet, send and receive emails, Facebook and Skype.

We understand the importance for patients, family members and visitors to easily communicate with their loved ones – and using their own device is by far the easiest option for them.   "Communication via the internet is something that most of us take for granted but if you are in the hospital and you suddenly don't have that facility on your own device, it can be quite frustrating. We made the decision to offer WiFi to give patients, visitors and family members more flexibility and control over the way they communicate while they are at MHA,” said Todd Stepanuik, President & CEO.

This has the potential to enhance a person’s experience while at the hospital whether they be an inpatient, outpatient, visitor or loved one.  MHA is proud to help people who access our site make that connection.  This will afford individuals the ability to more easily keep up with work while waiting for an appointment, waiting for a loved one, paying your bills while recovering, or Skype with a family after a baby is born, etc.
